3D Modelling offers a fantastic new dimension to traditional photographic portraiture, which can be shared and admired online, or easily brought into the physical world as a 3d fabricated statue.  Beyond this, neonascent gives you the opportunity to extend your body into the digital realm either as an online avatar, a game character, or poseable, emoting machinima actor.  

The following prices are in Australian dollars, and are a guide only.  Price is determined by pose, and exact requirements.  Please contact us for a quote.  

 

        Full body portrait with interactive model , and in a choice standard 3D formats (3DS, OBJ, FBX)  on CD-Rom, with         optional hosting. AU$80-150

        Fabricated 7" high statuette. Similar to Fabjectory's Second Life statuettes . includes the interactive model.                   AU$250-400  

        Articulated full body model, brought into a game engine or virtual world* of your choice.
        Price dependant on game:AU$180-400

        Articulated, lip-syncable bust. Head only, articulated for lip-synching and emotion. AU$100-150

        Custom model animation, we can produce custom animated shorts using your scanned character: Ask for a quote.

Capturing 3D models of real-world objects can be useful for Marketing (detailed models of products on the web), historical preservation for museums (the 3DSOM capture system is in use by both the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum of London), and for art gallery catalogues and websites.  Examples of modelled still objects from the "interactive models " section of the gallery, and from 3DSOM's website.

Josh Harle has had 10 years commercial programming experience, and 3 years electronic engineering experience (including designing and etching circuit boards, and embedded systems).  Josh provides technical consultation for time-based or interactive art concepts, providing services that include design, manufacture, and implementation.  

Recent Portfolio: 

Neonascent Project (March-May 2007) Research, design, and manufacture of the 3d scanning system, including hardware hacks of the digital cameras to allow remote triggering.

Braile Piece - Nyssa Miller (Feb 2007) Designed a motor/mirror system to scan a spotlight sequentially across a screen.

Sound Device (2006) Circuit design, Analogue-to-digital conversion, embedded programming and studio recording for a sculpture featuring a volume knob that controls the content of conversation being spoken. 

The Omnipotent - Allan Giddy (2006) System design and Programming for Blake prize work that displays a collaborative image of the face of god.

 

        Technical Consultation: Josh generally charges AU$40/hour for programming, electronic engineering and design work, though may work pro bono on interesting projects.
